The Ring-Tailed Lemur (Lemur Catta) is a prosimian native to various forest environments of the island of Madagascar. They are one of perhaps over one-hundred species of lemur living today. Unlike many lemur species, they spend a fair amount of their lives on the ground, and have a very distinctive hopping motion they use to move around. They are considered endangered due to illegal hunting and habitat loss.
