Venomous Snakes of California Poster

The state of California is home to ten different species of venomous snakes. Most are found in the drier areas in the southern part of the state such as the Mojave and Sonoran deserts. But there are also the Western or Northern Pacific Rattlesnake found in much of the northern and central parts of the state. While they are considered dangerous, bites are uncommon (and are usually the result of human interfering or attempting to pick up the snake) and fatalities on average are less than one each year.
