Michigan is home to around 170 species of butterly. They’re found in varied habitats from forests, open fields, meadows and urban parks and gardens. There are several conservation efforts in Michigan focusing on host plants like milkweed and lupine. Programs like the Michigan Butterfly Network engaging citizen scientists for monitoring and habitat management.
