Bateleur Eagle – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Bateleur Eagle:
The Bateleur Eagle is a medium-sized, stocky raptor native to much of Africa and some small areas of Arabia. They have a large wingspan – over 6 feet (186 cm) weighing about 4 pounds 7 ounces (2.2 kg) These birds of prey hunt over large areas of the open savannah and woodlands within sub-Saharan Africa. Unlike some of the other eagle species, this bird is relatively colorful with a bright red/orange beak and brown shoulder feathers, along with pink feet. The species has declined over the last few decades and is now considered threatened, due to habitat loss, pollution, poaching and nest disturbance. It is the national emblem of the African nation of Zimbabwe.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Bateleur Eagle was completed on 4.04.2014. This is the last eagle drawing I’m creating (for the time being) for a collage of the world’s eagles. It’s not all of them, but it’s some of the more remarkable species I’ve discovered since researching eagles. While in general they are mostly muted earth tones, I loved the look of the Bateleur as it has come splashes of color on the feet and beak. The drawing is based on photo Massimo Greco and was used with permission.
