Artist’s notes:

The Cotswold Sheep was completed on 6.16.2011. I recently moved from the traditional inkwell and nib, which was very messy, to ink pens. I looked for some time to find a pen that would make the right size dot, and be as black as if I was using a nib. I found it in the Pigma Micron pen. The size of the dot is a little smaller than I had hoped for, but with a smaller dot comes more detail. The process is longer, but the above drawing is the result. I think it’s one of my strongest images to date. The drawing is based on a photo by Cora Phillips.
