Information about the Pacific White-Sided Dolphin:
The Pacific White-Sided Dolphin is a medium sized cetacean (7-8 feet long, weighing 300 pounds) found in the cooler waters of the North Pacific Ocean. There is also an Atlantic White-Sided variety, which is somewhat larger. The beak of this dolphin is somewhat shorter and more rounded then other dolphins. It is a very strong swimmer and will swim alongside boats for extended periods of time. These dolphins feed on squid and small fish such as herring and sardines. It is believed that they feed mostly at night.

Artist’s notes:
The Pacific White-Sided Dolphin was completed on 6.2.2010. I actually completed the inked version of this drawing several years ago, and didn’t think it was strong enough to consider tinting. But I tweaked the original black and white image and then added the color (well, whites, grays and blacks in this instance.)
