Yellow-Crowned Night Heron – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Yellow-Crowned Heron:
The Yellow-Crowned Heron – also called the American Night Heron or Squawk – is a smaller sized heron native to much of the Americas. It’s generally found in or around swamps, mangroves, ponds, slow moving streams. They, like other herons, feed on small fish, crustaceans, reptiles and mammals. They will hunt their prey at the water’s edge, usually at night. They are one of only two members of the genus Nyctanassa, the other being the Bermuda night heron.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
Fine art illustration of a Yellow-Crowned Night Heron (Nyctanassa violacea.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Yellow-Crowned Heron was completed on 1.10.2015. I’m considering drawing a collage of herons, perhaps all of the ones native to North America. This heron will also be part of a collage of birds native to the Mid-Atlantic Coast. The drawing is based on a photo by the talented wildlife photographer Eleanor Briccetti and was used with her permission.
