The Giant Pacific Octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) is the world’s largest octopus, known for its incredible intelligence, camouflage, and size (can exceed 15 feet arm span, 100+ lbs). Like all other types of octopus, it has three hearts, blue blood, nine brains and over 2,000 suckers that taste and smell. They are solitary, nocturnal hunters, changing color and texture instantly. They generally have a lifespan of 3-5 years, with females dying after guarding their rice-grain-sized eggs.
