Hadrosaurus – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Hadrosaurus:
Hadrosaurus foulkii was a species of dinosaur native to the area that is now New Jersey. It is believed to have lived in the late Cretaceous period, which was about 136 million to 65 million years ago. Only one skeleton has even been unearthed, and this was found in in 1838 by John Estaugh, who was digging a pit when he discovered the bones. The site is now a National Historic Landmark. The Hadrosaurus became the first ever dinosaur skeleton to be mounted. Hadrosaurus was likely a plant eater and walked mostly on it’s back legs. The Hadrosaurus was officially declared the state fossil of New Jersey in 1991.

Artist’s notes:
The Hadrosaurus was completed on 8.21.2012. Moving through the state fossils, New Jersey came up and I learned that this was the official one of the Garden State. Again, I had started out with a rough sketch by the talented paleoartist Carl Buell, but filling it in was up to me. After reviewing what other artists had done, I came up with my own concept as to how the hadrosaurus’ skin and coloration might have looked. I’m working slightly larger than previous images, so I believe the result is a little stronger.
