Mammals of the Arctic Tundra Poster

Approximately 48 species of land mammals inhabit the arctic tundra. These mammals – like the Arctic Fox, Caribou, Muskox, Arctic Ground Squirrels and Arctic Hare – survive harsh cold with adaptations like thick fur, fat reserves, retreating underground and migration. All of the animals form a diverse groups from tiny rodents to large herbivores as well as apex predators. This collection of different types of animals are all essential to the tundra’s food web.
