The Mandarinfish – also called the Mandarin Dragonet – is is a small, brightly colored member of the dragonet family, which is popular in the saltwater aquarium trade. The mandarinfish is native to the Pacific, ranging approximately from the Ryukyu Islands south to Australia.

Artist’s notes:
The Mandarinfish was completed on 5.2016. Some time ago, a friend had asked me to draw this wonderful fish. For reasons I can’t quite recall, I put it on the backburned. But recently, I rediscovered the reference drawing I was planning on using, and I was able to complete the illustration. The drawing is based on a photo by SJ Charlene.
