Artist’s notes:

The New Mexico Whiptail was completed on 12.22.2012. This lizard was the last of the official state reptiles I needed to draw to complete the ’50 State Project’ – which was to draw all officially designated animals of the United States of America. This drawing proved to take more time than usual, due to the large areas of black and other dark tones – the ink phase took three days, when generally I can get this done in one to two days.
