Baird’s Tapir – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Baird's Tapir:
The Baird's Tapir is one of four extant species of tapir on earth, and the largest of the three species in Latin America. It is named for the noted American naturalist Spencer Fullerton Baird, who was in Mexico in 1843 and observed them. However, the animal was in fact first described by another American naturalist W.T. White. The Baird's Tapir is found in the dense tropical jungles of Central America. They are herbivores, feeding mostly on fruit, berries, and leaves, which they hunt for and grab using their prehensile snout. All four species of tapir are considered endangered or vulnerable. Desert Blister Beetle – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Desert Blister Beetle:
The Desert Blister Beetle is a species of blister beetle found in southwestern North America. Typically 16 to 33 mm (0.6 to 1.3 in) in length, L. magister has a striking red head, legs and prothorax, with black elytra. They can be found in great numbers in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts in spring, and are often seen in swarms. Females lay eggs in holes in the desert soil. The larvae are insectivorous, mainly attacking bee nests. They consume the immature host along with its provisions, and can often survive on the provisions alone, thus they are not obligatory parasitoids but rather food parasites that are parasitoid, or simply predatory. Adults feed on flowers and leaves of brittlebush. Information about the Margay:
The Margay is a smaller member of the feline family. It is native to southern North America, down through much of Central America and most of South America. Like many other species of cat, the Margay is a solitary hunter. It prefers remote sections of very dense tropical and subtropical rainforests and cloudforests. It looks similar to the Ocelot, but the head is a little smaller with longer legs and tail. The cat weighs from 5.7 to 8.8 pounds (2.6 to 4 kilograms), with a body length of 19 to 31 inches (48 to 79 centimeters), and a tail length of 13 to 20 in (33 to 51 centimeters.) Because of unregulated hunting and habitat loss this cat is considered endangered by some environmental groups. Weddell Seal – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Ribbon Seal:
The Ribbon Seal is a medium-sized pinniped from the true seal family (Phocidae). A seasonally ice-bound species, it is found in the Arctic and Subarctic regions of the North Pacific Ocean, notably in the Bering Sea and Sea of Okhotsk. It is distinguished by its striking coloration, with two wide white strips and two circles against dark brown or black fur. It is the only living species in the genus Histriophoca. The ribbon seal lives in the Arctic parts of the Pacific Ocean. During winter and spring, it hauls out on pack ice to breed, molt, and give birth. During this time, it is found at the ice front in the Bering and Okhotsk Seas. During the summer and autumn, the ribbon seal lives in open water, though some move north as the ice recedes with warmer temperatures. Little is known about its habit during this time, as it is so far from land and human observation. The ribbon seal almost never comes to land. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
