$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Prairie Racerunner:
The Prairie Racerunner – a sub-species of the the six-lined racerunner lizard – is found in the short grassy habitats of the Midwestern part of the United States, from Colorado to Nebraska, south to northern Texas. The prairie racerunner is generally dark green or dark brown in color, with seven yellow stripes which run the length of the body from the head to the tail, and has a white underside. They are slender-bodied, and have a tail that is nearly twice the length of their body. Like most species of whiptail lizard, the prairie racerunner is diurnal and insectivorous. They are most active in the early morning, and hide as the heat of the day rises.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Artist’s notes:
The Prairie Racerunner was completed on 7.1.2013. I’ve never encountered these lizards in the wild, but they are the only lizards that are native to my home state of Minnesota – although I believe they are only found in the extreme southeastern corner of the state. The drawing is based on a photo by Justin Michels.
