Russian Tortoise – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Russian Tortoise:
The Russian Tortoise – also called Horsfield’s tortoise or Central Asian tortoise – is smaller tortoise native to Afghanistan to north-western China, through the countries of Russia. They usually live in arid areas where the vegetation is sparse. With their powerful claws, they are formidable diggers, and will excavate large burrows sometimes as large as 6 feet long (two meters). They are herbivores, who eat when the temperature allows them, feeding on a variety of grasses and weeds. They are very popular as pets, and for this reason they are now protected in many of the areas they’re native to.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
Fine art illustration of a Russian Tortoise (Agrionemys horsfieldii.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Russian Tortoise was completed on 9.24.10. Tortoises are fun and generally a very popular subject. I’m trying to work my way through the popular pet tortoises, and hopefully this year I’ll get to the Greek and Henmann’s Tortoises.
