Songbirds of North Dakota Poster
North Dakota in the US has a rich diversity of native songbirds. Many of the birds only pass through the state during migration, but other species are found there all year round. Unlike other birds, songbirds have a highly developed syrinx with complex sets of internal muscles. These muscles allow them to control different parts of the syrinx independently, enabling the production of two sounds at once or rapidly changing notes to create complex, musical melodies. For more information on North Dakota’s songbirds visit: National Audubon Society, North Dakota Fish and Game, and iNaturalist as they offer guides, species lists, and identification tips.
The Songbirds of North Dakota poster features scientifically accurate illustrations of over twenty species of the state’s native and migrant songbirds. The artistic design is complete with both common and scientific names. The poster is shipped in a sturdy 2″ mailing tube with plastic endcaps. The posters can be signed or customized by the artist upon request.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
All images are scientifically accurate and expertly drawn by wildlife artist Roger Hall.
