Arctic Wolf – Signed Fine Art Print
$19.95 – $27.95
Information about the Arctic Wolf:
Also called the Polar, Tundra or White Wolf, Arctic Wolves are large predatory mammals from the Canidae family. They are a subspecies of the Gray or Timber Wolf. These wolves inhabit the Canadian and Alaskan arctic as well as part of Greenland. They are somewhat smaller than the Gray Wolf although they are still large growing to over 150 pounds and up to 5-6 feet long (including tail.) Like all wolves the Arctic Wolf mostly hunts in packs preying on caribou and musk oxen. But they will also take smaller prey such as hare, seals, birds and lemmings. Due to their isolation the Arctic Wolf is still found over much of it’s original range.
The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
• Paper thickness: 10.3 mil
• Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²)
• Opacity: 94%
Fine art illustration of an Arctic Wolf (Canis Lupus arctos.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Arctic Wolf was completed on 10.18.09. It can be challenging to create a drawing of a white, furred animal when the foundation is black ink – as is the case with all my illustrations. Unlike the Snowshoe Hare I feel the Arctic Wolf’s coat feel accurate and follows the contour of the body naturally. The drawing is based on a photo by AJ Havercamp.
