Fine art illustration of a Gray Jay (Perisoreus canadensis.) The illustration is available in black and white or color.
Artist’s notes:
The Gray Jay was completed on 1.14.2013. At times I am utterly overwhelmed at the sheer number of species of songbirds native to the North American Continent. I’ve spent several years illustrating them, and at best I’ve completed drawings of about 5% of all extant species. I doubt with the time I’ve left in my career that even if I focused exclusively on them, I could even draw half of them. But occasionally, when I’m researching my next drawing, I come across a species that really captures my imagination and inspires me with it’s beauty. The Gray Jay is one of those birds. The drawing is based on a photo by Les Piccolo.
