Artist’s notes:
The Texas Earless Lizard was completed on 9.6.2011. I hadn’t drawn a non-snake reptile in many months when I saw a video on YouTube about this amazing and beautiful lizard. I love the coloration on the side of the body, and like all other lizards it has that curious, wide eyed stare that seems to indicate intelligence and interest. Although that’s probably not the case, but it’s still fun to think of it as such. The drawing is based on an image by wildlife photographer Bob Barber.
