The Eastern Screech Owl (Megascops asio) is a small owl with yellow eyes and ear tufts, found across eastern North America. The owl’s habitat is diverse, including forest edges, parks, gardens, streamside groves, and suburbs with mature trees. They are nocturnal, feeding on small mammals, insects, and even fish. Eastern Screech Owls nest in tree cavities, abandoned woodpecker holes or nesting boxes.
