Marbled Godwit – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Marbled Godwit:

The Marbled Godwit is a large North American shorebird native to North America from Alaska down south to Mexico. It breeds in the northern prairies of western Canada-(Canadian Prairies), and the north central Great Plains, United States near marshes or ponds. These birds usually nest on the ground in short grass. During the 19th century the number of Marbled Godwits dropped drastically due to overhunting, the numbers rebounded and the bird is not considered endangered. But their numbers have dropped again due to habitat loss. The Marbled Godwit feeds on insects and small crustaceans, usually hunting for them with their long beaks, poking in the shallow water or shoreline. It is the largest of the godwit species, with a wingspan of about 28-35 inches (70-88 cm) The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download

Marbled Hatchetfish – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Marbled Hatchetfish:

The Marbled Hatchetfish is small, ray-finned fish native to the tropical freshwaters of South America. They grow to be about 1.4 inches long (3.5 cm) The unusual shape of the fish - so named for it's resemblance to a hatchet - is thought to be a form of camouflage in mimicking a dead leaf. The fish spends most of it's time near the water's surface, adding to the illusion. These fish are very popular in the pet industry and are often kept in aquariums. They prefer softer, acidic water. They are omnivorous, feeding on small insects and plant matter. They are known to jump out of the water if startled, so if they are kept in an aquarium a secure lid on top is necessary.

Marsh Crocodile – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Marsh Crocodile:

The Marsh or Mugger crocodile is also called the Indian, Indus or Persian crocodile is found throughout the Indian subcontinent and the surrounding countries. It is one of the three crocodilians found in India. It inhabits freshwater lakes, ponds, sluggish rivers, swamps and marshes. Males of the species may grow to about 13-15 feet long (4-4.5 meters) The females are usually smaller. The mugger crocodile has the broadest snout of any extant crocodile which makes it look somewhat like an alligator. The mugger crocodile gets its name from the habit of stealing kills from other predators. Despite this behavior, they are also skilled predators that can hunt and catch on a variety of species. Like other crocodilians they are ambush hunters and wait for their prey to come close. They mostly prey on fish, reptiles, birds and mammals. The mugger crocodile can be a threat to humans, but generally they are not as aggressive as some other species. Due to habitat loss, pollution and overhunting they are considered "vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
