Eurasian Wild Boar – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Eurasian Wild Boar:
The Eurasian Wild Boar, called razorbacks or European Boar in the US, are species of pig descended from domestic pigs. They are very widespread throughout much of Europe, Asia, Australia and several islands, including the Hawaiian Archipelago. Because they are non-native to most of their range, they are often considered invasive species and can be very damaging to the plants and other animals in that ecosystem. The size of these animals can vary greatly, depending on location, diet and environment. While they rarely grow larger than 200 pounds, there have been individuals weighing much more than that - weighing over 400 pounds. An unconfirmed report from Russia have one being killed that weighed over an astonishing 700 pounds. They are social animals are are commonly found in groups of several individuals. They have recently been re-introduced into areas where they had been eliminated, such as Great Britain, where they have established permanent populations. Willet – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Willet:
The Willet is a large shorebird in the sandpiper family. It is the largest of the shanks (which are a genus of wading birds). Adults have gray legs and a long, straight, dark and stout bill. The body is dark gray above and light underneath. This bird winters on the Atlantic coast of South America. The Western Willet breeds in freshwater prairie marshes in western North America. It winters on both coasts, from the mid-Atlantic states south to at least Brazil on the Atlantic, and from Oregon south to Peru and Chile on the Pacific. Willets nest on the ground, usually in well-hidden locations in short grass, often in colonies. These birds forage on mudflats or in shallow water, probing or picking up food by sight. They mainly eat insects, crustaceans and marine worms, but also eat some plant material. The Willet's population declined sharply due to hunting in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Their population has since increased, but they are still considered at risk, especially in light of continued habitat loss. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
