$19.95$27.95

Information about the Scarlet Tanager:

The Scarlet Tanager is a songbird native to North America. While it is called a tanager the bird is not actually a member of the Thraupidae (tanager) family but the Cardinalidae (cardinal) family. It is found throughout much of the eastern forests of the US and Canada. During migration the bird migrates southwards though Central America into areas of north central South America. While the body of the male is a striking cardinal red with black wings, the female is an olive yellow with darker brownish wings. Scimitar Oryx – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Scimitar Oryx:

The Scimitar Oryx - also called the Sahara Oryx - is a species of oryx that was native to most of Northern Africa. Unfortunately, it has been completely extirpated in the wild and now only lives in zoos and on wildlife reserves. The scimitar oryx was a very sociable animal and traveled in herds of between two and forty individuals, generally, led by a dominant bull. This species once gathered in groups of several thousand for migration. Because of it's valuable horns, the species was hunted until it was extinct in the wild.

Sea Lemon – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Sea Lemon:

The Sea Lemon is a nudibranch, usually growing to about 1-3 inches (25-75mm) but is can grow much larger. This species may produce a lot of sweet, fruity-smelling mucus when disturbed, and this will cause some predators to release them. They are native to coastal waters from Kodiak Island, Alaska to Isla Coronados in Baja, California. These gastropods are common in low intertidal, on rocky shores and in and around harbor pilings. This is the largest of California nudibranchs. It has a penetrating, fruity odor, which may be used to fend off predators. It feeds on a variety of sponges. It may also ingest quantities of organic detritus. Studies show that individual nudibranchs are conservative in their food habits; they tend to keep eating the same food species, even if they are transferred to other sites. Spawning period varies with location, but extend for several months. The mating is reciprocal; partners may be of vastly different size. Buy a Digital Download

Semipalmated Plover – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Semipalmated Plover:

The Semipalmated Plover is a smaller native wading bird found in and around tidal flats and fields. It spends winters on mudflats, salt marshes, and lakeshores along the West Coast from Washington south to coastal Mexico, along the southern Atlantic Coast, the Gulf Coast, and the West Indies. They're smaller birds, weighing on about 0.78–2.22 oz (22–63 g) measuring 5.5–7.9 inches long (14–20 cm) with a wingspan of 14–22 inches (35–56 cm.) They are migratory and winter in coastal areas of the southern United States, the Caribbean and much of South America.Their true status may be obscured by the difficulty in identifying them from the very similar ringed plover of Eurasia, of which it was formerly considered a subspecies. Semipalmated plovers forage for food on beaches, tidal flats and fields, usually by sight. They eat insects, crustaceans and worms. This bird resembles the killdeer but is much smaller and has only one band. The term "semipalmated" refers to its partly webbed feet. Since the semipalmated plover nests on the ground, it uses a "broken-wing" display to lure intruders away from the nest, in a display similar to the related killdeer.
