The crested gecko, also called the eyelash gecko, is a species of reptile native to southern New Caledonia in the South Pacific Ocean. It was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered in 1994. Like many gecko, the crested gecko has no eyelids and must use it's tongue to keep the eyes moist. Crimson Rosella is species of parrot native to eastern and south eastern Australia. It has also been introduced to New Zealand as well as nearby Norfolk Island. It is most commonly found in mountain forests. It grows to be about 14 inches long (36cm) most of which is tail feathers. There are five subspecies of this parrot, three of which are crimson colored, the others are yellow and a hybrid of red and yellow. While these parrots are not endangered, they do face threats from habitat loss, attacks from non-native domestic animals such as dogs and cats. The Cuban Crocodile is a highly endangered reptile native to freshwater swamps of a very few isolated areas in Cuba's Zapata Swamp and the Isle of Youth. The characteristics of this large reptile sets it apart from the other crocodilian species, such as having bright coloration as an adult, pebbled scales and the long strong legs. They usually grow to be about 6.9–7.5 feet (2.1–2.3 meters) in length and weigh 150–180 pounds (70–80 kilograms.) While they are not nearly the largest species of crocodile, they do have the reputation as being one of the most aggressive. Crocodylus rhombifer prefers freshwater swamps, marshes and rivers, but it will occasionally swim into saltwater. It feeds on small fish, crustaceans and arthropods. The Death's-Head Hawkmoth is a large Sphingid moth found in India and much of Asia. It's one of the three species of Death's-head Hawkmoth, also known as the Bee Robber. It is nocturnal, and very fond of honey; they can mimic the scent of honey bees so that they can enter a hive unharmed to get honey. Their tongue, which is powerful enables them to pierce the wax cells and suck the honey out. This species occurs from India, Pakistan and Nepal to the Philippines, and from southern Japan and the southern Russian Far East to Indonesia, where it attacks colonies of several different honey bee species. The Desert Box Turtle is a member of the family Emydidae, which are the pond turtles or marsh turtles, or box turtles. This small reptiles is native to arid and semi-arid regions from the Trans-Pecos area of Texas, New Mexico, and southeastern Arizona in the United States and south into Sonora and Chihuahua in Mexico. The Desert Box Turtle is omnivorous and will feed on vegetation, insects and even carrion if it's able to find it. The turtle will also root around in cow dung looking for beetles to feed on. This box turtle, like all of the related species are highly prized as pets and are often collected and kept in captivity.
