Townsend’s Warbler – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Townsend's Warbler:
The Townsend's Warbler is a small songbird of the New World warbler family. Their breeding habitats are coniferous forests with large trees on the northwestern coast of North America. Their nests are shallow cups built with grass and lined with moss. These nests are usually placed atop a branch in a conifer. The female lays 4 to 5 eggs. This bird is closely related to the Hermit Warbler, and the two species interbreed where their ranges overlap. Birds from the Queen Charlotte Islands migrate short distances further south on the Pacific coast. Other birds winter in Mexico, Central America, and the south-western United States. They forage actively in the higher branches, sometimes hovering or catching insects in flight. They mainly eat insects and spiders and seeds. Outside of the nesting season, these birds forage in mixed flocks. In winter, they also eat berries and plant nectar. This bird was named after the American ornithologist, John Kirk Townsend. Although Townsend is also credited with first describing this bird, he used a name chosen by Thomas Nuttall, who was travelling with him, and so sidestepped the convention against naming a species after oneself. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Trumpeter Swan – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Trumpeter Swan:
The Trumpeter Swan is the heaviest bird native to North America and is the largest waterfowl species on the planet. Adults usually grown to 54–65 inches long (138–165 centimeters) - although large males can be slightly larger. They are very heavy birds, weighing up to 15–30 pounds (7–13.6 kilograms) Wingspan ranges from (73 to 98 inches (185 to 250 centimeters.) These birds were once on the edge of extinction, due to overhunting for their feathers and lead poisoning due to shotgun pellets. There has been several programs that have attempted to reintroduce them into their native range with only moderate results. Despite these challenges the IUCN considers them to not be threatened (although the state of Minnesota has them listed as threatened.) Tundra Swan – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Tundra Swan:
The Tundra Swan is a small Holarctic swan native to the Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. These large birds have high-pitched honking calls and sound similar to a black goose. They are particularly vocal when foraging in flocks on their wintering grounds; any conspecific arriving or leaving will elicit a bout of loud excited calling from its fellows. Contrary to its common name, the ground calls of the Whistling Swan are not a whistle and neither notably different from that of Bewick's Swan. The flight call of the latter is a low and soft ringing bark, bow-wow...; the Whistling Swan gives a markedly high-pitched bark in flight. By contrast, the Whooper and Trumpeter Swans' names accurately describe their calls – a deep hooting and a higher-pitched French horn-like honk, respectively. Flying birds of these species are shorter-necked and have a quicker wingbeat than their relatives, but they are often difficult to tell apart except by their calls. Turkey Vulture – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Turkey Vulture:
The Turkey Vulture is a large scavenger bird common throughout most of the Americas. It is the most widespread of the New World vultures. It is a large bird with a wingspan of 68–72 inches and an average weight of just over three pounds. They can be recognized in flight by the distinctive shallow "v" shape their wings make when soaring. While they are considered birds of prey, they rarely if ever kill prey themselves. Like other vultures, the Turkey Vulture plays a very important role in the ecosystem by disposing of carrion which otherwise might be a breeding ground for disease The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
