Common Grackle – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Common Grackle:
The Common Grackle is a common bird native to the much of the eastern 2/3rds of North America. They are clever foragers, and being omnivorous they can find a meal nearly anywhere. They will even steal food from other birds and eagerly scoop up food dropped by humans. They often congregate into very large groups - sometimes referred to as a 'Plague of Grackles.' Because of the grackles fondness for grains, and that clearing the forests helped this bird expand it's range, it is considered a pest by many. They are frequently preyed upon by birds of prey such as hawks. Information about the Common Murre:
Common Murre or Common Guillemot (Uria aalge) is a large auk. It is also known as the thin-billed murre in North America. Common or Eurasian Kingfisher – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Common Kingfisher:
The Common or Eurasian Kingfisher is a widely distributed bird native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa, mainly south of 60°N. It is a common breeding species over much of its vast Eurasian range, but in North Africa it is mainly a winter visitor, although it is a scarce breeding resident in coastal Morocco and Tunisia. In temperate regions, this kingfisher inhabits clear, slow-flowing streams and rivers, and lakes with well-vegetated banks. It frequents scrubs and bushes with overhanging branches close to shallow open water in which it hunts. In winter it is more coastal, often feeding in estuaries or harbors and along rocky seashores. Tropical populations are found by slow-flowing rivers, in mangrove creeks and in swamps. Common Ostrich – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Ostrich:
The Ostrich is a large flightless bird found in Africa. At one time it was also found in the Middle East too. It is the only living species of the family Struthionidae and the genus Struthio. While this bird cannot fly, it is extremely fast and can run at speeds approaching 50 miles an hour, which is the fastest land speed of any bird. The Ostrich is also the largest living species of bird and also lays the largest egg of any bird species. While there is no truth to the myth that when frightened or threaten the Ostrich will stick it's head in the sand, it will lay flat on the ground, or run. If it can do neither it will attack with a dangerous and deadly kick from it's massive and powerful legs.
