The Birds of the Tropics are a collection of birds native to the lush, verdant rainforests that ring the equatorial areas of the earth. Although some particular birds of the tropics are very colorful, most are of a drab gray coloration.
The birds of the tropical areas are tend to remain well-hidden because of their varied and bright colors. Green feathers will blend into the dense tree canopy tropical climates, which remain green the entire year. Many of these birds are very intelligent, and make excellent pets. Although the demand for them unfortunately has led to the steep decline of the birds in their native environment.

Crimson Rosella is species of parrot native to eastern and south eastern Australia. It has also been introduced to New Zealand as well as nearby Norfolk Island. It is most commonly found in mountain forests. It grows to be about 14 inches long (36cm) most of which is tail feathers. There are five subspecies of this parrot, three of which are crimson colored, the others are yellow and a hybrid of red and yellow. While these parrots are not endangered, they do face threats from habitat loss, attacks from non-native domestic animals such as dogs and cats. The Guianan Cock-of-the-Rock is a South American bird about 12 inches (30 cm) long. The male is brightly colored orange and has a very prominent half-moon crest on it's head. This crest is used is competitive displays in gatherings to attract a female. The passerine bird has a very stout-body. The female much less colorful, bring a dark brownish-grey overall and has a yellow-tipped black bill and a smaller crest. As suggested by its name, the Guianan Cock-of-the-rock is native to the tropical and sub-tropical rainforests of what is called the Guianan Shield, occurring in French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, southern Venezuela, eastern Colombia and northern Amazonian Brazil. Its preferred habitats are humid forests near rocky outcrops. Hoatzin – Signed Fine Art Print

The Hoatzin - also called the stinkbird or Canje Pheasant - is tropical bird native to the swamps, forests and mangroves of the Amazon and Orinoco Delta in South America. It is the only extant member of the family Opisthocomidae. It is about 26 inches long (65 cm) not including a long head and neck. It is a very vocal bird, with a variety of hoarse calls, including groans, croaks, hisses and grunts. These calls are often associated with body movements, such as wing spreading. Calls are used to maintain contact between individuals in groups, warn of threats and intruders and by chicks begging for food. The Hoatzin feeds on leaves, fruits and flowers. Despite habitat loss and predation by humans on the eggs of the birds, it is not considered endangered. And it's adaptability to changes to it's environment will help it survive into the future.
