The Trumpeter Swan is the heaviest bird native to North America and is the largest waterfowl species on the planet. Adults usually grown to 54–65 inches long (138–165 centimeters) - although large males can be slightly larger. They are very heavy birds, weighing up to 15–30 pounds (7–13.6 kilograms) Wingspan ranges from (73 to 98 inches (185 to 250 centimeters.) These birds were once on the edge of extinction, due to overhunting for their feathers and lead poisoning due to shotgun pellets. There has been several programs that have attempted to reintroduce them into their native range with only moderate results. Despite these challenges the IUCN considers them to not be threatened (although the state of Minnesota has them listed as threatened.) Tundra Swan – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Tundra Swan:
The Tundra Swan is a small Holarctic swan native to the Arctic and Sub-Arctic regions. These large birds have high-pitched honking calls and sound similar to a black goose. They are particularly vocal when foraging in flocks on their wintering grounds; any conspecific arriving or leaving will elicit a bout of loud excited calling from its fellows. Contrary to its common name, the ground calls of the Whistling Swan are not a whistle and neither notably different from that of Bewick's Swan. The flight call of the latter is a low and soft ringing bark, bow-wow...; the Whistling Swan gives a markedly high-pitched bark in flight. By contrast, the Whooper and Trumpeter Swans' names accurately describe their calls – a deep hooting and a higher-pitched French horn-like honk, respectively. Flying birds of these species are shorter-necked and have a quicker wingbeat than their relatives, but they are often difficult to tell apart except by their calls. Western Grebes are the largest of the North American grebes. It is often found in large inland lakes, saltwater beaches and bays, and coastal freshwater marshes during the breeding season. It is know for a spectaculars courtship display, where both birds will rear up on their legs and splash lightly across the water's surface. Western Grebes feed on fish, small crustaceans, invertebrates and amphibians. They are highly gregarious, wintering in large flocks and nest colonies, although during the summer months they are often encountered in small numbers or even solitary individuals. Whooper Swan – Signed Fine Art Print

The Whooper Swan is a large bird native to the Northern Hemisphere. The length of these swans is 55-56 inches (140–165 cm) with a wingspan of 81-108 inches (205–275 cm). These birds require large bodies of water, and are rarely seen far from them. Because of their weight, their legs cannot support them for any great length of time and they need the buoyancy of the water to help them. Their name comes from the loud honking or whooping sound they make. They are very strong flyers, and can migrate hundreds or even thousands of miles to reach their breeding grounds. The Whooper Swan is the national bird of Finland and appears on the Finnish 1 Euro coin. The Whooper Swans mate for life. The Wood Duck is a medium-sized perching duck. They grow to about 19 inches long and a wingspan of around 30 inches. The adult male has striking coloration whereas as in most ducks the female's coloration is more drab. The range of the Wood ducks is from central North America to the east coast as well the Pacific coast from British Columbia to northern Mexico. Due to overhunting the Wood Ducks was almost exterminated in the late 1800s, but thanks to the passing of laws to protect them the Wood Ducks is the most common waterfowl species breeding in the US. It is the official waterfowl of the state of Mississippi.
