The Douglas Squirrel is a pine squirrel found in the Pacific coastal states and provinces of North America. It is sometimes known as the chickaree or pine squirrel. Douglas squirrels live in coniferous forest habitats, from the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, northwards to coastal British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. These rodents prefer old-growth forests or mature second-growth forests, and some authors regard them as dependent on its presence. Dusky-Footed Woodrat – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Dusky-Footed Woodrat:
The Dusky-Footed Woodrat is a nocturnal mammal native to the forested areas of Mexico and California. They are sometimes called "packrats" or "trade rats." The Woodrat builds large, doomed dens that can be as large as several feet. These large protective dens usually discourage potential predators. While they are solitary animals, except when breeding, they will live in communities where there are several dens close to one another. It's been recorded that Dusky-footed woodrats of California will selectively place California bay leaves (Umbellularia) around the edges of their nest within their stickhouse to control levels of parasites such as fleas. Information about the Eastern Gray Squirrel:
The Eastern Gray Squirrel (or simply Gray Squirrel depending on the region) is an arboreal mammal of the order of Rodentia (rodents) They are native to much of the eastern and mid-western areas of North America. They are highly adaptable animals, and because of this in areas they have been introduced (such as Britain and Ireland) they have largely displaced the native red squirrels.
