Asian Black Bear – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Asian Black Bear:
The Asian Black Bear - also called the Moon Bear or White-Chested Bear - is a medium-sized species of bear, largely adapted for arboreal life, seen across much of the Himalayas and the northern parts of the Indian Subcontinent, Taiwan, Korea, northeastern China, the Russian far east and the Honsha and Shikoku islands of Japan. It is classed by the IUCN as a vulnerable species, mostly due to deforestation and active hunting for its body parts. The species is morphologically very similar to some prehistoric bears, and is thought by some scientists to be the ancestor of other extant bear species. Though largely herbivorous, Asian black bears can be very aggressive toward humans, and have frequently attacked people without provocation. Black bears typically inhabit deciduous forests, deserts, mixed forests and thornbrush forests. They rarely live in elevations of more than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). They usually inhabit elevations around 11,480 feet (3,500 m) in the Himalayas in the summer, and will climb down to 4,920 feet (1,500 m) in winter. They sometimes occur at sea level in Japan. Asian Small-Clawed Otter – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Asian Small-Clawed Otter:
The Asian or Oriental Small-Clawed Otter is a member of the family Mustelidae. They're native to the mangrove swamps, tidal pools and freshwater wetlands of much of Southeast Asia and southern China. Of all otter species in the world, Aonyx cinerea is the smallest of them all. Their name comes from the relatively small claws they have, which barely extend out past the pads of their paws. Like other otter species, they are highly skilled hunters and can feed upon a large variety of animals, such as crustaceans and mollusks, smaller invertebrates, amphibians and fish. They will also prey on smaller mammals and reptiles. Due to habit loss, pollutions and loss of food sources they are now considered vulnerable by some environmental organizations. Asiatic Lion – Signed Fine Art Print
The Asiatic Lion - also known as the Indian Lion or Persian Lion - is a large carnivorous mammal that once ranged across the coastal forests of northern Africa and from northern Greece across south-west Asia to eastern India. Today they are limited to one small area in the Gir Forest in India. They are slightly smaller than their African counterparts. Their main prey are wild boars, buffaloes, antelopes, and deer. While they are considered endangered, their population is stable and they are a protected species. There are currently less than 500 Asiatic lions living in the wild.

Aye-Aye – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Aye-Aye:
The Aye-Aye is a strepsirrhine primate native to Madagascar. It's the world's largest nocturnal primate. It is the is the only extant member of the genus Daubentonia and family Daubentoniidae. This unusual looking animal combines rodent-like teeth and a specialy adapted thin middle finger. It fills a similar ecological niche as the woodpecker. The Aye-Aye is characterized by its unusual method of finding food; it taps on trees to find grubs, then gnaws holes in the wood using its forward slanting incisors to create a small hole in which it inserts its narrow middle finger to pull the grubs out. This foraging method is called percussive foraging. The only other animal species known to find food in this way is the striped possum. Due to habitat loss - as well as the native peoples seeing the animal as a bad omen and symbol for death causing them to kill them out of superstition - the Aye-Aye is classified as endangered. Bactrian Camel – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Bactrian Camel:
The Bactrian Camel is a large, even-toed ungulate native to the cold, barren steppes of Central Asia. While the species has been widely domesticated and there are thought to be over 1,000,000 on the planet, there are only small, isolated populations in remote areas of the Gobi Desert that are wild. The IUCN has the Bactrian Camel on their Red List, and it is considered critically endangered. This camel is liklely the ancestor of all domestic two-humped camels. It is well adapted to the harsh conditions of the Gobi Desert, which is one of the driest, coldest places on earth. These camels can survive through droughts and when food is extremely scarce. Camels are the only land animals that can drink salt or brackish water with no ill effects. Baird’s Tapir – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Baird's Tapir:
The Baird's Tapir is one of four extant species of tapir on earth, and the largest of the three species in Latin America. It is named for the noted American naturalist Spencer Fullerton Baird, who was in Mexico in 1843 and observed them. However, the animal was in fact first described by another American naturalist W.T. White. The Baird's Tapir is found in the dense tropical jungles of Central America. They are herbivores, feeding mostly on fruit, berries, and leaves, which they hunt for and grab using their prehensile snout. All four species of tapir are considered endangered or vulnerable. Bald Uakari – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Bald Uakari:
The Bald Uakari - also called the Bald-Headed Uakari - is monkey native to the seasonally flooded forests and other wooded habitats near water in the western Amazon of Brazil and Peru. The Bald Uakari weighs about 6.1-7.6 pounds (2.75-3.45 kg) with a body length of 18 inches long (45.6 cm.) Females are slightly smaller. It is rarely found outside of the forest canopy. It is omnivorous, feeding mostly on fruits found in the trees, but it will also eat flowers, buds and small animals. Because the monkey has such a small range, it is extremely susceptible to human activity such as habitat loss. Several conservative groups are working to help preserve enough natural habitat to save the Bald Uakari from extinction.
