The Striped Hyena is a species of true hyena native to North and East Africa, the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It is listed by the IUCN as near threatened, as the global population is estimated to be under 10,000 mature individuals which continues to experience deliberate and incidental persecution along with a decrease in its prey base such that it may come close to meeting a continuing decline of 10% over the next three generations. It is the smallest of the true hyenas and retains many primitive viverrid characteristics lost in larger species, having a smaller and less specialized skull. Though primarily a scavenger, large specimens have been known to kill their own prey, and attacks on humans have occurred on rare instances. The striped hyena is a monogamous animal, with both males and females assisting one another in raising their cubs. A nocturnal animal, the striped hyena typically only emerges in complete darkness, and is quick to return to its lair before sunrise. Though it has a habit of feigning death when attacked, it has also been known to stand its ground against larger predators such as leopards in disputes over food. The Striped Skunk is an omnivorous mammal found over most of North America, north of the Mexican border. It is roughly the size of an average house cat, weighing about 7-10 pounds and without the tail 13-18 inches. This small mammal is easily identified by it's white strip that runs from the tail to the head. When threatened the skunk can emit a foul odor to warn off the threat, as well as stomping it's feet. As a last resort the skunk will spray a strong-smelling fluid to defend itself. This spray can travel up to 12 feet. The skunk is mostly nocturnal, sleeping in a burrow most of the day emerging at night to hunt for food. Subspecies of the North America Elk Poster Print
There are four subspecies of elk native to North America. At one time there were two more, but the Eastern Elk (Cervus canadensis canadensis) and Merriam Elk (Cervus canadensis merriami) are long extinct. Elk were completely extirpated from the areas east of the Mississippi in the 1870's, but have been reintroduced using some of the existing subspecies from the western parts of North America.

The Sugar Glider is a small possum native to various forested environments of northern and eastern Australia, Tasmania and Papua New Guinea. While they strongly resemble flying squirrels they are not closely related to them. The name comes from their diet, which consists of tree sap, usually from the eucalyptus, acacia and gum trees. Although they will also catch and eat insects, especially in summer. They are arboreal, rarely coming down from the tree canopy. They are highly social, living in groups of up to seven adults plus young ones. They are hunted by many of the forest predators, such as owls, kookabuurras, snakes, goannas and feral cats. These animals do well in captivity and are often kept as pets. The Sumatran Tiger is found only on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Like all tigers the Sumatran Tiger is critically endangered because of poaching and habitat destruction. There are as few as 350 left in the wild today. They are the smallest of the tiger subspecies with a height 30" at shoulder, weight 200-450 pounds and a body length of 84-106 inches. These large carnivores feed on wild boar, tapir and deer.
