Orbicular Batfish – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Orbicular Batfish:

The Orbicular Batfish also called the circular batfish, orbiculate batfish, round batfish, or orbic batfish is a popular aquarium fish endemic to tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The body of this fish is almost disc-shaped, and very thin. Its tail, about 20% of the body length, is fan-shaped and is taller than it is long. In the wild, the orbicular batfish is found in brackish or marine waters, usually around reefs. Its range extends from the Red Sea and East Africa in the east to the Tuamotu Islands in French Polynesia in the west, and from southern Japan in the north to northern Australia and New Caledonia. It has been recorded off the coast of Florida, though this may be the result of dumping of aquarium specimens. Juvenile fish are solitary or live in small groups, among mangroves or other inner sheltered lagoons. Adults are found in more open waters and at greater depth.

Pacific Seahorse – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Pacific Seahorse:

The Pacific Seahorse is a member of the order of Gasterosteiformes, which are a group of ray-finned fishes which includes the sticklebacks and relatives. It is found over a large part of the Pacific Ocean, from the coastal water of southern California, down along to Peru and as far east at the Galapagos Islands. As adults, these fish grow to about 5.1 to 12.2 inches long (13 to 31 centimeters.) Pacific Seahorses feed mostly on bottom-swarming organisms like mysids and other plankton. They do not have teeth or stomachs. Prey is consumed by a rapid snap of the head after sucking it through their long snout. Like other species of seahorses, the young actually gestate in the male's body who also gives birth to them.

Peacock Grouper – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Peacock Grouper:

The Peacock Grouper - also called the Roi, Blue-spotted Grouper, Argus Grouper, Peacock Hind, Peacock Grouper or Peacock Rockcod is a fish from the Indo-Pacific. Its species name comes from its resemblance to the "hundred staring eyes" of the monster Argus in Greek mythology. A medium sized fish that can reach a length of 24 inches (60 centimeters) When the fish is hunting, they will lay on the bottom and surge forward, preferring smaller fish and crustaceans. They may also hover motionless in the water column before attacking. This grouper may follow and cooperate with another predator species, such as an octopus or eel or camouflage themselves in a school of surgeonfish. Multiple individuals may cooperate to harass an eel to get it to flush prey for them. These fish were introduced to Hawaii in the 1950s to enhance local fisheries. Hawaii's Division of Aquatic Resources (DAR) finds that they have become the reefs' dominant predator.

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Queen Angelfish:

The Queen Angelfish is a colorful fish found in the warm coral reefs of the Atlantic Ocean, specifically in and around Florida, the Bahamas and the Gulf of Mexico. Despite their bright coloration, these fish blend quite well into their surroundings. Queen Angelfish feed on sponges, jellyfish, corals, plankton and algae. Juveniles will serve as 'cleaner fish' to larger species and sea turtles. These fish do well in captivity and are frequently kept as pets in saltwater aquariums. They have tiny mouths that protract and contain slender brush-like teeth in a thin band. Rainbow Scorpionfish – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Rainbow Scorpionfish:

The Rainbow Scorpionfish is a bottom dwelling fish, commonly in the reefs, rocky areas and kelp forests in the Eastern Pacific: California, USA to Peru and the Galapagos Islands. A common but inconspicuous species. They have earned their name, as they have sharp spines with a venom gland, and these can inflict a nasty sting if they're provoked. Otherwise, these brightly colored fish tend stay hidden, rather than actively hunt, preferring to ambush any prey that wander close to them. They feed on small gastropods, crustaceans and fish, using the enormously powerful suction of their mouths to gulp up prey.
