Information about the French Angelfish:
The French Angelfish member of the family Pomacanthidae. It's found in the western Atlantic from New York and the Bahamas to Brazil, and also the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean, including the Antilles, Roatan, and the eastern Atlantic from around Ascension Island and St. Paul's Rocks, at depths of between 2 and 100 m. Length is up to 41 cm. The French angelfish is common in shallow reefs, occurs usually in pairs often near sea fans. It feeds on sponges, algae, bryozoans, zoantharians, gorgonians and tunicates. Juveniles tend cleaning stations where they service a broad range of clients, including jacks, snappers, morays, grunts, surgeonfishes, and wrasses. At the station the cleaner displays a fluttering swimming and when cleaning it touches the clients with its pelvic fins. This species is oviparous and monogamous. The Galapagos Fur Seal is a marine animal native to the Galapagos Islands, which are archipelago of volcanic islands distributed around the equator in the Pacific Ocean, which are about 500 miles west of Ecuador in South America (although the islands are part of the nation of Chile.) These pinnipeds are the smallest of the otariids (eared seals) The males generally grow to about 5 feet long (1.5 meters) and weighing roughly 140 pounds (64 kilograms) The females are somewhat smaller and weigh less. These seals are notable as they spend more time out of the water than almost any other seal. These animals once were plentiful, but fur traders in the 1800 decimated the population, and the numbers have continued to decline to the point where the species is considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Also called the Garibaldi Damselfish, this is a bright, orange colored fish native to the north eastern subtropical areas of the Pacific Ocean, from the Monterey bay down to the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. These fish grow up to about 12 inches long, and prefer to live in fairly shallow water (about 100 feet deep) usually near kelp beds and rocky reefs. As sub-adults, the Garibaldi Fish are not as colorful as the adults and have small blue iridescent spots. It is the official marine fish of the state of California. Giant Green Sea Anemones are members of the Actiniidae family. As their name makes clear, are very large and green color (although there are some color variations that can include yellow, orange and light purple. It is the largest anemone found along the Pacific Coast, from Alaska all the way down to Baja, Mexico. These animals use their long tentacles to snag potential prey as they pass. The tentacles sting then paralyze the animal. While the stings (whish are harpoon-like and called nematocysts) are deadly to small animals, they are harmless to humans, and produce a small tingling feeling. While they are sometimes mistaken for plant life, they are animals and voracious predators, feeding on fish, shrimp, isopods, amphipods even larger crustaceans like crabs. Green Sea Anemones are capable of devouring a giant crab, and spitting out the shell in only 15 minutes. Giant Red Tail Gourami – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Red-Tail Giant Gourami:
The Red-Tail Giant Gourami are native to Malaysia and Indonesia, where they inhabits the slow waters of rivers, marshes and lakes. Adults can grow up to 20 inches (50 centimeters). These fishes have 10 dorsal spines, 13-14 dorsal soft rays, 11-12 anal spines and 16 – 18 anal soft rays. Body is large, laterally compressed, with an almost oval shape. The head is snub-nosed, with prominent jaw. The pectoral fins are large and rounded, while the dorsal and anal fins are slightly elongated. Even the tail is rounded and the ventral fins are threadlike. At the root of the pectoral fins appears a black ocellus. Another larger black ocellus appears on the caudal peduncle. Adults have bright red fin edges with filamentous extensions. Body colour varies from gray-blue to gray-green to brown, darker on the back. Females have duller colors.
