Minke Whale – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Minke Whale:
The Minke Whale - as called the Lesser Rorqual - is a marine mammal of the order Cetacea. It is often classified as two species - the Common Minke Whale and the Antarctic Minke Whale. It is the second smallest of the baleen whales (only the aptly named Pygmy Whale is smaller) Minke Whales grow to be about 23-35 feet long with the males a being little longer. Adults will generally weigh 3-5 tons. These cetaceans are widely distributed throughout the world's oceans, and can be found from the poles to the tropics. They occasionally will come near coastal areas, but it appears they tend to prefer the open oceans. Due to whaling these large ocean going mammals, were at one times considered endangered, but thanks to the ban on whaling - respected by most countries - their numbers have rebounded and their numbers are stable. Moon Jellyfish – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Moon Jellyfish:
The Moon Jellyfish - also called the Moon Jelly, Saucer Jelly or Common Jellyfish - refers to a group of about ten species of jellyfish which are so similar in appearance as to be nearly impossible to tell apart without the aid of of genetic sampling. This genus is found in most of the world's oceans, from the tropics to as far north as latitude 70°N and as far south as 40°S. Like other jellies, Aurelia aurita feeds on plankton that they catch in their long tendrils as the jellyfish drifts on the sea currents. They are predated upon by just a few animals, such as the Mola Mola or Ocean Sunfish and the Leatherback Sea Turtle. Moorish Idol – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Moorish Idol:
The Moorish Idol is a small marine fish native to the shallow and warm tropical lagoons and coral reefs of the Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Gulf of California southwards down to Peru in South America. They can be social fish, often schooling in small numbers although they are often encountered alone. Moorish Idols in the wild feed on sponges, tunicates (underwater saclike filter feeders) and other benthic invertebrates They are popular aquarium fish and are often found in large saltwater tanks, although they can be difficult to maintain, requiring a very large tank. Sometimes captive Moorish Idols will not eat and starve themselves, so they are not recommended for beginning aquarists. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Muskellunge – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Muskellunge:
The Muskellunge or Muskie is a large predatory freshwater fish native to the lakes and large rivers of North America. It is the largest member of the pike family. Generally these fish grow to be between 28-48 inches (.71-1.2 meters) weighing in the area of 5-36 pounds (2.3-16 kilograms) They can grow to be much larger - over 6 feet (2 meters) long weighing 70 pounds (32 kilograms.) They are the top predator in the lake, and feed on nearly all animals that might be around; crayfish, frogs, fish, ducklings, snakes, mice, muskrats and other rodents. These freshwater monsters are so bold they will sometimes attack humans in shallow water. They are also highly prized by fishermen and women. Unfortunately, because of their low productive rate they have become very scarce in much of their former range. Anglers are encouraged to "catch and release" when they hook a Muskie. Narwhal Whale – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Narwhal Whale:
The Narwhal - or Narwhale - is a marine mammal native to the freezing waters of the Arctic. Is it a toothed whale and one of two species of the Monodontidae family (the other being the Beluga Whale . They are most noted for their characteristic "horn" which is really an overgrown tusk that grown out of a hole in the animal's upper lip. Biologists have pondered for years why the Narwhal has this tusk, as it seems to serve no purpose. The Narwhale spends much of it's time under pack ice, diving to depths of about 4500 feet or 1500 meters. They are an important food source for the native peoples of the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. While the extreme remoteness of their habitat keeps their populations mostly stable, climate change is having an effect on these whale as the ocean's waters warm up and the dense pack ice retreats further north each year. It is mostly a solitary fish, active mostly during the daylight hours. It is usually found in around coral reefs, where it feeds on smaller fish, and crustaceans like lobsters, crabs and shrimp. Due to overfishing the species has been in steep decline over the last few decades so that the fish has been declared endangered by several conservation groups. Northern Elephant Seal – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Northern Elephant Seal:
The Northern Elephant Seal is one of two species of elephant seal (the Southern Elephant seal being the other.) It is a member of the Phocidae family - which are "true seals." They are native to the beaches and sand dunes of the Pacific coast of North America. Elephant Seals are massive, and the males are much larger than the females. Large bull males can weigh in upwards of 5,000 pounds (2,3000 kg) and be 14 feet long (4 meters.) Male elephant seals are fiercely territorial and are famous for their brutal fights with one another during the mating season, when a dominate male is protecting his harem of females from a challenger. Although the battles are long and bloody, they are rarely fatal and generally the loser is allowed to slip away to a less desirable part of the beach. Northern Pike – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Northern Pike:
The Northern Pike - simply called "pike" in Europe, jackfish in Canada or "northern" in the mid-western parts of the US - is a freshwater carnivorous fish native to lakes and slow moving rivers throughout much of North America, Europe and Central Asia. They are highly adaptive animals and have been introduced into areas with brackish water (a mix of salt and seawater) and managed to establish themselves. They can grow to be quite large, with lengths of about 60 inches (150 centimeters) and weighing over 55 pounds (25 kilograms) The heaviest specimen ever caught weighed 68 pounds (31 kilograms) These fish are extremely popular with anglers, and large individuals are highly sought after. Unfortunately, due to their popularity they have been "fished out" of many lakes. Even with this pressure, the fish is so adaptable and widespread it is not considered endangered by any group. It is the state fish of North Dakota.
