California Sea Lions are large animals and males can grow to weigh over 600 pounds and eight feet in length. Females are smaller and usually lighter in color. Sea Lions feed on fish and squid mostly, but will also eat shelled animals like clams. Their numbers are abundant and in some areas even on the rise. California Sheephead – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the California Sheephead:
The California Sheephead are native to the kelp forests and open, rocky areas of the Pacific Ocean off the coastline of the US. They are sexually dimorphic, which means their are physical differences between males and females; the females are smaller than the males and are without the distinctive coloration of the males and their bands of red and black with white bellies. Sheephead have powerful jaws used to pry animals from rocks, usually crustaceans or other hard bodied invertebrates. Their teeth are then used to grind up the animal. They are active during the day and usually retreat into a rock crevice during the night. These large fish were once plentiful, but overfishing has caused their number to plummet, and there is now restrictions on how many can be caught. All sheephead are born female, but change their gender as they age. How this process works and why the fish has developed this way is unknown. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

California Swell Shark – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the California Swell Shark:
The California Swell Shark - also called the Balloon Shark or simply Swellshark - is native to the continental sea shelves, kelp forests and shallow inshore reefs, sometimes wedged into a rock crevice during the day emerging at night to hunt for food such as small bony fish, crustaceans, and mollusks. They are not dangerous to humans, and will avoid contact with divers by remaining in their hiding spots, even swelling up to make sure they are not dislodged. This defense of inflating itself to become larger is also useful in avoiding predators, making them too large for some predators to attack. Caribbean Reef Octopus – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Caribbean Reef Octopus:
The Caribbean Reef Octopus is a marine animal native to the warm tropical coral reefs, grassy and rocky sea beds of the Pacific Ocean. Its color range is incredibly large; it can change from crimson to green, and bumpy to smooth. It weighs around 3.3 lb or 1.5 kg. Like other octopus, they are mostly solitary animals and only interact with others when mating. When threatened this cephalopod will sucks up water then expels it quickly in the form of a jet to propel itself away. To further deter predators, it can eject ink to mask its escape. This octopus does not live in its lair for its entire life; instead, it moves often except when caring for eggs or young. The Caribbean reef octopus feeds on crabs or shrimp, lobsters, and fish. It is a nocturnal species which only hunts at night. Caribbean Reef Shark – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Caribbean Reef Shark:
The Caribbean Reef Shark is a species of "requiem" shark native to the tropical waters of the Western Atlantic Ocean from Florida to Brazil. They are larger sharks and can grow to nearly 10 feet long (3.2 meters) but more commonly it maxes out at about 6.5-8 feet (2-2.5 m.) It is considered an apex predator of their marine environment and feeds on nearly all available prey, such as fish and cephalopods. Normally shy or indifferent to the presence of divers, the Caribbean reef shark has been known to become aggressive in the presence of food and grows sufficiently large to be considered potentially dangerous. As of 2008, the International Shark Attack File lists 27 attacks attributable to this species, 4 of them unprovoked, and none fatal. Information about the Chambered Nautilus:
The Chambered Nautilus is a mollusk, related to the octopus, squid, clam and snail. They are found in the Indo-Pacific area and live primarily near the bottom in waters up to 1500 feet deep. At night they rise closer to the surface. Nautilus pompilius can grow to a length of about 8 inches. The animal creates chambers that increase in size as it moves to occupy the outermost chamber of its shell. An adult may have about 30 of these chambers. The smooth thin shell spirals and has a pattern of brown and white. Channel Catfish – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Channel Catfish:
The Channel Catfish is a large, freshwater catfish native to the streams, rivers, lakes and ponds of North America. It is extremely popular with anglers and an estimated eight million people fish for these animals in an average year (using various techniques such as "noodling" wherein the angler actually gets into the water using their hands as bait and grabbing the catfish by the mouth, trying to find them in their muddy crevices.) The species has been deliberately introduced into parts of Asia. The Channel Catfish is omnivorous and will eat nearly anything that it can digest. It is the state fish of Missouri, (unofficial) Iowa, Nebraska, and one of two in Tennessee (the other being the Largemouth Bass The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
