Trumpeter Swan – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Trumpeter Swan:
The Trumpeter Swan is the heaviest bird native to North America and is the largest waterfowl species on the planet. Adults usually grown to 54–65 inches long (138–165 centimeters) - although large males can be slightly larger. They are very heavy birds, weighing up to 15–30 pounds (7–13.6 kilograms) Wingspan ranges from (73 to 98 inches (185 to 250 centimeters.) These birds were once on the edge of extinction, due to overhunting for their feathers and lead poisoning due to shotgun pellets. There has been several programs that have attempted to reintroduce them into their native range with only moderate results. Despite these challenges the IUCN considers them to not be threatened (although the state of Minnesota has them listed as threatened.) Western Meadowlark – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Western Meadowlark:
The Western Meadowlark is a medium-sized member of the Icteridae family. They grow to be about 8.5 inches long (22 centimeters.) These songbirds are native to western North America, from Canada down to Mexico. They are closely related to Eastern Meadowlarks, but have a few physical difference in the patterns on their feathers. They are generally found in grasslands, prairies, open pastures, meadows and fields. Their nests are made on the ground, which makes them vulnerable to cats and accidental encounters with mowers. For a long time the Eastern and Western Meadowlark for a long time were considered the same species, and when the Western bird was finally recognized as a separate species it was given the semi-ironic latin name of "neglecta." It is the state bird of Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon and Wyoming. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
