Fire-Bellied Toad – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Fire-Bellied Toad:
The Fire-Bellied Toad, also known as the Oriental Fire-Bellied Toad, is native to the southern part of Russia into northeastern China and parts of Korea and Japan. This toad inhabits forests, open meadows, river valleys and swamps. They are generally found in slow moving waters such as lakes, ponds and steams and even occasionally in ditches and puddles. The toads feed on a variety of insects including flies, beetles and ants, but will also take worms and snails. Oriental fire-bellied toads are medium-sized, growing to a length of about 2 inches (5.5 centimeters). The backside of these amphibians are covered in bumps that look a little like warts. Their coloration range from bright green to brownish gray, and their bellies are smooth with a mottled pattern of red and black. The coloration is used as a defensive measure, as some predators will see the bright red color and be fooled into thinking the toad is poisonous. Due to their color as ease of care these amphibians are very popular in the pet trade. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
