Information about the Canterbury Cathedral:

Canterbury Cathedral is a large, gothic building in the town of Canterbury in Kent, England. The official name of the structure is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Christ at Canterbury. It is one of the most famous and oldest Christian structures in England. It is believed to have been founded in about 602 by Augustine of Canterbury. One of the most famous historical events connected with the cathedral is the murder of Thomas Becket by the knights of King Henry II, who had frequent conflicts with the priest culminating his assassination. The cathedral survived a massive fire in 1174, which destroyed much of the eastern portion of the building as well as an earthquake in 1382. The cathedral has nearly two dozen bells in it's three towers.
