The Gliding Frog is a species of frog in Hylidae family. It is found in the subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and intermittent freshwater marshes of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Panama. The distinctive name comes the the frog's large toepads that, when extended outwards, can help control the descent of the frog helping it to "glide." This is especially helpful when the frog needs to avoid being caught by other tree dwelling predators such as snakes. The frog in not considered endangered, but it's numbers are declining due to habitat loss and climate change. The Hoffmann's Two-Toed Sloth is a solitary, largely nocturnal and arboreal animal, found in mature and secondary rainforests and deciduous forests. Adults range from 21 to 28 inches (54 to 72 cm) in head-body length, and weigh from 4.6 to 19.8 pounds (2.1 to 9 kg) Hoffmann's two-toed sloth is found in the rainforest canopy in two separate regions of South America. One population is found from eastern Honduras in the north to western Ecuador in the south, and the other in eastern Peru, western Brazil, and northern Bolivia. These sloths mostly feed on leaves, but they will also eat fruits and flowers. The name is in honor of the the German naturalist Karl Hoffmann. The King Vulture is a large South and Central American bird of the New World family Cathartidae. This vulture lives primarily in tropical lowland forests ranging from southern Mexico to Argentina. It is the only living member of the genus Sarcoramphus - all others are extinct and we know of them only from the fossil record. Like all vultures this bird feeds on carrion. But unlike some other vultures it has not been known to kill sick or dying animals for food. Not including the two species of condors it is the largest of the New World Vultures with an overall length ranging from 27–32 inches and a wingspan on average of about 4–6.5 feet. Its weighs about 6-10 pounds. The Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth - also called the Southern Two-Toed Sloth or Unau - is a slow moving mammal native to the tropical rainforests of South America. It's range includes Venezuela, the Guyanas, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil north of the Amazon River. It is a solitary animal, climbing through the canopy feeding on various plant materials. It is sometimes seen swimming across rivers. The two-toed sloths are generally larger than their three-toed sloth relatives, also having larger eyes, longer hair and legs and arms that are more equal in length. Some of the apex predators will hunt these sloths, such as jaguars and ocelots, as well as Crested and Harpy Eagles, who will pluck them from the trees in flight.
