Chinook Salmon – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Chinook Salmon:
The Chinook Salmon is the largest of the species of salmon in the Pacific. They are also sometimes called King Salmon or Spring Salmon. They are a migrating fish and are adapted to live in both fresh and saltwater. They are native to the Pacific Coasts from California to Alaska in the west, as well as parts of Siberian and Japan. They have also been introduced into parts of New Zealand and the Great Lakes. They are very popular with sportsmen and women who will spend many hours attempting to land these large fish. Salmon spend anywhere from one to eight years in the ocean before returning to the rivers where they were born to spawn. When the fry are born, they usually spend about 8-12 months in the river before following it down to the ocean where they will spend most of their adult life.
