Bewick’s Wren – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Bewick's Wren:
The Bewick's Wren is a small songbird of the wren family native to North America. They are found from southern British Columbia, Nebraska, southern Ontario, and southwestern Pennsylvania south to Mexico, Arkansas and the northern Gulf States. They were once very common in the eastern part of North America, but they're now rarely seen there. The Bewick's Wren does not migrate. These active birds prefer dry brushy areas, chaparral, scrub, thickets in open country, and open woodlands near rivers and streams. But they can also be found in gardens, residential areas, and parks in cities and suburbs. This wren feeds on insects and spiders, which it plucks from vegetation or finds while foraging on the ground. Wrens are sometimes observed looking for food with other birds species such as chickadees. Big-Belly Seahorse – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Big-Belly Seahorse:
The Big-Belly or Pot-Bellied Seahorse is one of the largest of the seahorses in the world. It can grow up to about 13.5 inches long (35 cm) compared to the smallest - the Dwarf Seahorse - that is only about 2 inches long. They're native to the coastal waters of Australia and New Zealand. Because of their size, these fish are often used in traditional Chinese medicine, for a host of human ailments, although there is precious little evidence they actually help as they're supposed to, and removal of them from their environments just does damage and harms the species. Unlike other seahorses, Hippocampus abdominalis is a fairly strong swimmer. The pot-bellied seahorse diet consists mainly of crustaceans such as shrimp. They will also eat different kind of small fishes, so long as they fit through the narrow snout of the animal. They are also popular aquarium fish. They are small to medium-sized squids, averaging 1.5 to 13.0 inches (3.8 to 33 centimeters long. Bigfin reef squids have the fastest recorded growth rates of any large marine invertebrate, reaching 1.3 pounds (600 g) in only four months. They are a short-lived species, with a maximum recorded lifespan of 315 days. The diet of bigfin reef squids comprises mainly crustaceans and small fish. They are found in the temperate and tropical waters of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. They are commonly found near the shoreline, near rocks, and coral reefs. They are fished in large quantities for human food in Asia. Info about the Black and Yellow Garden Spider:
The Black and Yellow Garden Spider - also known as the Writing Spider or Corn Spider - is an arachnid common to much of North and Central America. These large arthropods build webs in forests near sunny fields so they are protected from the wind. The web can be quite large - up to 2 feet in diameter. The males are slightly smaller than the females. In a daily ritual, the Black and Yellow Garden Spider consumes the interior part of the web and then rebuilds at the start of each day with new silk.
