Gasteracantha cancriformis
Spiny-Backed Orb Weaver Spider – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Spiny-Backed Orb Weaver Spider:
The Spiny-Backed Orb Weaver is a small arachnid common to many areas of the world. They are small and while they do bite, generally the bite is harmless to humans. While they look somewhat like crab spiders, they are not related. G. cancriformis is found in parts of the southern US from California to Florida, and also parts of Central America, Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, South America and some islands in the Bahamas. These spiders prefer to live in the edges of woodland areas, and are commonly found in fruits groves. The spider does not live very long, usually a few weeks to a couple months. Males die in a few days after mating with the females. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
