The Southern Hognose Snake is a non-venomous and harmless reptile native to the open dry plains, grass flatwoods, river floodplains and fields of the southeastern United States. The name comes from the distinctive and pig-like snout of the snake. These snakes normally prey on frogs, toads and lizards. While the species was once very common and often encountered in the wild, due to habitat loss and species collection for the pet trade the population has dropped in the last few decades and the snake is now considered "vulnerable' by the IUCN.The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:
