The Varied Thrush is a colorful bird of the Pacific Northwest, with a range that stretches from Northern California all the way northward into Alaska. They are generally found in dark, old growth coniferous forests, although they are known to stray very far from their home range, sometimes turning up well into the middle section of the country. They are omnivorous feeders, and will readily eat small invertebrates as well as fruits and acorns.
