The wingspan is about 12-15 inches (31–38 centimeters) and they weigh roughly 1.4–2.0 ounces (40–58 grams) Males are usually slightly larger than the females. It is easily the most commonly encountered of the mockingbirds, and can be found in a variety of environments. It is highly adaptable to living in cities and rural areas. The bird is well known for it's keen ability to hear and repeat sounds. The bird has been know to nearly perfectly mimic man made sounds such as car alarms and construction machinery such as jackhammers. While the birds are young they are fairly social, but as they grow older they tend to become more solitary, and even fiercely territorial defending the areas they have claimed as their own. Northern Pike – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Northern Pike:

The Northern Pike - simply called "pike" in Europe, jackfish in Canada or "northern" in the mid-western parts of the US - is a freshwater carnivorous fish native to lakes and slow moving rivers throughout much of North America, Europe and Central Asia. They are highly adaptive animals and have been introduced into areas with brackish water (a mix of salt and seawater) and managed to establish themselves. They can grow to be quite large, with lengths of about 60 inches (150 centimeters) and weighing over 55 pounds (25 kilograms) The heaviest specimen ever caught weighed 68 pounds (31 kilograms) These fish are extremely popular with anglers, and large individuals are highly sought after. Unfortunately, due to their popularity they have been "fished out" of many lakes. Even with this pressure, the fish is so adaptable and widespread it is not considered endangered by any group. It is the state fish of North Dakota. The Northern Saw-Whet Owl is a smaller, fairly common owl native to the forests of North America, including southeastern Alaska, southern Canada, most of the United States and the central mountains in Mexico. Generally the adults grow to be about 6.7–8.7 inches long (17–22 cm) with a 17–22.2 inch wingspan (42–56.3 cm) These owls weigh only about 1.9 to 5.3 oz (54 to 151 g) with an average of around 2.8 oz (80 g) which makes them one of the smallest owls in North America.
