$19.95$27.95

Information about the Common Murre:

Common Murre or Common Guillemot (Uria aalge) is a large auk. It is also known as the thin-billed murre in North America. It has a circumpolar distribution, occurring in low-Arctic and boreal waters in the North-Atlantic and North Pacific. It spends most of its time at sea, only coming to land to breed on rocky cliff shores or islands. Common murres have fast direct flight but are not very agile. They are more maneuverable underwater, typically diving to depths of 98–197 ft (30–60 meters) Common murres breed in colonies at high densities, nesting pairs may be in bodily contact with their neighbors. They make no nest, their single egg is incubated on a bare rock ledge on a cliff face.

Common or Eurasian Kingfisher – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Common Kingfisher:

The Common or Eurasian Kingfisher is a widely distributed bird native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa, mainly south of 60°N. It is a common breeding species over much of its vast Eurasian range, but in North Africa it is mainly a winter visitor, although it is a scarce breeding resident in coastal Morocco and Tunisia. In temperate regions, this kingfisher inhabits clear, slow-flowing streams and rivers, and lakes with well-vegetated banks. It frequents scrubs and bushes with overhanging branches close to shallow open water in which it hunts. In winter it is more coastal, often feeding in estuaries or harbors and along rocky seashores. Tropical populations are found by slow-flowing rivers, in mangrove creeks and in swamps. Common Ostrich – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Ostrich:

The Ostrich is a large flightless bird found in Africa. At one time it was also found in the Middle East too. It is the only living species of the family Struthionidae and the genus Struthio. While this bird cannot fly, it is extremely fast and can run at speeds approaching 50 miles an hour, which is the fastest land speed of any bird. The Ostrich is also the largest living species of bird and also lays the largest egg of any bird species. While there is no truth to the myth that when frightened or threaten the Ostrich will stick it's head in the sand, it will lay flat on the ground, or run. If it can do neither it will attack with a dangerous and deadly kick from it's massive and powerful legs. Common Squirrel Monkey – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Common Squirrel Monkey:

The Common Squirrel Monkey is native to the rainforests, savannahs, mangroves, and marshlands of the Amazon Basin in the countries of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Paraguay and Venezuela. There are also small populations have been introduced into south Florida and and some islands in the Caribbean. This small primate lives in the middle canopy, but will occasionally come to the ground or go up into the top canopy. They are often hunted by bird of prey, so they tend to stay in areas with thick and dense vegetation. They feed on both plant materials, such as various rainforest fruits and will also eat any insects they catch. They are generally very social animals, living in groups which affords them more protection from predators. While the species isn't considered endangered, they are threatened by habitat loss as well as being captured for the pet trade as well as being used for medical research. Common Sunstar – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Common Sunstar:

The Common Sunstar is a member of the family Solasteridae, which includes about 10 different genera of sea stars. This echinoderm is native to the coastal waters of both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, mostly in the northern parts. It is common along the coastlines of the northern European nations, along with much of the Pacific Coastline of North America. The animal gets it's name from the circular shape and large number of arms - usually between 8 and 14 - which resemble the sun. They are large, usually about 15 inches across (40cm) While they are generally found at depth of at least 5-10 feet, very low season tides will expose them to the open air. Currently there is a disease that is causing the population to waste away, and the cause is unknown.
