Information about the Pacific Wren:

The Pacific Wren is a very small North American bird and a member of the mainly New World wren family Troglodytidae. It was once lumped with Troglodytes hiemalis of eastern North America and Troglodytes troglodytes of Eurasia as the winter wren. It breeds along the Pacific coast from Alaska to California and inland as far as Wyoming and the Black Hills of South Dakota. It migrates through and winters across the western half of the United States and Canada. The scientific name is taken from the Greek word "troglodytes" (from "trogle" a hole, and "dyein" to creep), meaning "cave-dweller", and refers to its habit of disappearing into cavities or crevices whilst hunting arthropods or to roost. The Panamint Rattlesnake - also called the Panamint rattler, Owens Valley rattler or Tiger rattlesnake - is a venomous pitviper subspecies found in desert mountain areas of southern Nevada and adjacent California, at about altitudes around 3000 feet (900 meters) to 7,900 feet (2,400 meters) These snakes are usually commonly found on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada from Mono County, California, east to Nye County, Nevada, south through southwestern Nevada, southeast to Clark County, Nevada, and southwest to central San Bernardino County, California. The subspecific name, stephensi, is in honor of Frank Stephens who was the Curator Emeritus of the San Diego Society of Natural History. The snake feeds on birds, lizards and small mammals, injecting venom and paralyzing the prey. Bites are not common, but when humans are bitten they should seek medical attention immediately. The name Panamint comes from the range of mountain in Death Valley that the snake is native to.

Information about the Parachuting Red-Eyed Leaf Frog:

The Parachuting Red-Eyed Leaf Frog - also called the Misfit Frog - is a smaller frog, with adult males ranging from 34 to 54 mm and the larger females ranging from 57 to 66 mm. They are found in the tropical and subtropical rainforests of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. This frog is identified by its dramatic red eyes with vertical pupils, and its orange hands and feet. They have extensive webbing between the fingers and toes and large suction disks at end of each digit. Other than the size difference between the males and females, males develop a dark or black patch on the inside of the base of the thumb during mating season. This species closely resembles Agalychnis callidryas (red-eyed leaf frog) but with some differences. It has a uniform dark blue or purple flanks instead of vertical white, yellow, or cream bars found in the red-eyed leaf frog. Another difference is that Agalychnis saltator changes its color from uniform leaf-green during the day to tan or brown during the night, while the red-eyed leaf frog just change their hue.
