Cotton-Top Tamarin – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Cotton-Top Tamarin:
The Cotton-Top Tamarin is a very small monkey found only in a very small area of the tropical rainforests of northern Columbia. It is a member of the family Callitrichidae, which are marmosets and tamarins. They have a very distinctive white crest that extends from the forehead to the shoulders. They weigh only about one pound (.55 kilograms.) They are diurnal and arboreal, rarely coming down from the trees their entire lives. They are omnivorous, feeding on insects as well as vegetable matter, such as various fruits. They are important seed dispensers and many plants count on this to procreate in the rainforest. They are one of the more critically endangered primates in the world, with perhaps as few as only 6,000 animals in the wild. They are highly social animals, living in groups of about 6-13 individuals. Several conservation groups have aggressively attempted to stave off extinction for many years, but the tamarin's future remains uncertain. It's the largest of the four gorilla sub-species. It has a jet-black coat and it very stocky. Populations in the wild are estimated to be about 5,000 living animals. Unlike the Western Lowland Gorilla, there are very few in captivity and in zoos (The only zoo that houses them in in Antwerp, Belguim.) Like other gorillas, these animals are very social and live in groups of 5-30 individuals. They face a number of threats, such as habitat destruction, illegal hunting and instability in the region caused by an ongoing civil war.The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Emperor Tamarin – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Emperor Tamarin:
The Emperor Tamarin is a small primate native to a relatively small section of rainforest in the Amazon in South America in east Peru, north Bolivia and in the western Brazil. The name comes from the highly distinctive "moustache" that supposedly resembled the Emperor Wilhelm of Germany. It is very small, growing only to about 9-10 inches long (23-26 cm) and weighing 18 ounces (500 grams.) There are two subspecies of the Emperor Tamarin: the Black-chinned Emperor Tamarin (Saguinus imperator imperator) and the Bearded Emperor Tamarin (Saguinus imperator subgrisescens.)They are active during the day, wandering in the trees eating fruits and flowers, many of which are readily available due to their flourishing vegetational habitats. They are considered endangered due to poaching and habitat loss. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality:

Gelada Baboon – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Gelada Baboon:
The Gelada Baboon called the gelada baboon and bleeding-heart baboon, is a species of Old World monkey found only in the Ethiopian Highlands, with large populations in the Semien Mountains. Theropithecus is derived from the Greek root words for "beast-ape." Like its close relatives the baboons (genus Papio), it is largely terrestrial, spending much of its time foraging in grasslands. Geladas are found only in the high grassland of the deep gorges of the central Ethiopian plateau. They live in elevations 1,800–4,400 m above sea level, using the cliffs for sleeping and montane grasslands for foraging. These grasslands have widely spaced trees and also contain bushes and dense thickets. They display threats by flipping their upper lips back on their nostrils to display their teeth and gums, and by pulling back their scalps to display the pale eyelids. Gigantopithecus – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Gigantopithecus:
Gigantopithecus are extinct mammals from the order Primates. They lived in various locations in India, China and Vietnam from about nine millions years until about one hundred thousand years ago. While the fossil record is somewhat incomplete, it is believed that these apes grew to be very large, up to 10 feet tall (3 meters) weighing in the area of 1,200 pounds (540 kilograms.) Their massive bulk makes them about three times the size of modern gorillas. While little is known about their diet, it is believed they were mostly plant eaters because of the teeth that have been found and the climate and plant life that existed at that time. While there is no direct evidence, some Bigfoot enthusiasts believe that Gigantopithecus might be animal behind the many reported encounters with a large, bipedal ape in North America. Gray Mouse Lemur – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Gray Mouse Lemur:
The Gray or Lesser Mouse Lemur is a small primate of the Cheirogaleidae family. As the name implies, they are very small - only weighing about 2.4 ounces (58-67 grams) but they are the largest of the mouse lemurs. Like other similar species, the Gray Mouse Lemur is nocturnal and arboreal (tree dwelling.) This primate can be found in the dry, lowland tropical forests of Madagascar. They are opportunistic feeders, and will eat various types of fruit, flowers, insects and nectar. They are hunted by snakes, owls, and other mammals. They are often taken as prey, but this is counterbalanced by the rapid reproduction rate which results in many young. The Gray Mouse Lemur's future is uncertain due to deforestation and removal of species for the illegal pet trade.
