Rana palustris
Pickerel Frog – Signed Fine Art Print
Information about the Pickerel Frog:
The Pickerel Frog is a medium sized amphibian native to the eastern parts of US and Canada. They're found in cool wooded areas nearby ponds, lakes and slow moving streams. They are often found in grassy fields during the summer months. The Pickerel Frog is sometimes confused with the Leopard Frog, but the Pickerel's spots are generally larger, and in two rows on their backs whereas the Leopard's are more scattered and irregular. These frogs are carnivores feeding on insects and other invertebrates. The Pickerel Frog is believed to have a poison that can kill other frogs, but is harmless to humans. The Pickerel Frog will protect itself from potential predators by giving off a poisonous chemical. This chemical can irritate humans and can even kill captive animals forced to share living space with this frog. The poster is printed on matte, museum-quality paper with Giclée printing quality: • Paper thickness: 10.3 mil • Paper weight: 5.6 oz/y² (192 g/m²) • Opacity: 94% Buy a Digital Download
