Ruddy Duck – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Ruddy Duck:

The Ruddy Duck is a duck from North America and the Andes Mountains of South America. It is one of the "stiff-tailed ducks." Their breeding habitat is marshy lakes and ponds. They nest in dense marsh vegetation near water. The female builds the nest out of grass, locating it in tall vegetation to hide it from predators. A typical brood contains 5 to 15 ducklings. They are migratory and winter in coastal bays and unfrozen lakes and ponds. These birds dive and swim underwater. They mainly eat seeds and roots of aquatic plants, aquatic insects and crustaceans. As a result of escapes from wildfowl collections, they are now established in Great Britain, from where they have spread widely into Europe. This duck's aggressive courting behavior and willingness to interbreed with the endangered native White-headed Duck, of southern Europe, has caused some concern. Due to this, there is now a controversial scheme to extirpate the Ruddy Duck as a British breeding species; there have also been culling attempts in other European countries. Rusty Blackbird – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Rusty Blackbird:

The Rusty Blackbird is a medium-sized blackbird native to Canada and the United States. It spends the summers around the Arctic Circle and the winters in the southeastern part of the lower 48 states. They are generally found in temperate coniferous forests when they are breeding, and then migrate into ponds and wetlands when the seasons change. They eat mostly insects, foraging for them among the leaf litter on the forest floor, flipping over leaves and aquatic vegetation looking for insects and small fish. It will also feed on plant matter such as seeds. Due to habitat loss, the number of the Rusty Blackbird have been declining for many years, and the INCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) considers them "vulnerable." According to the North American Breeding Bird Society their numbers may have plummeted to 85%–98%. Saber-Tooth Cat – Signed Fine Art Print

$19.95$27.95

Information about the Saber-Tooth Cat:

The Saber-Toothed or Sabre-Toothed cat is an extinct massively built carnivore that was native to North and South America during the early Pleistocene through Lujanian stage of the Pleistocene epoch (2.5 mya—10,000 years ago). Their name comes from the prominent length of their maxillary canines. Smilodons were among the largest cats to ever to live on the planet, growing to weight between 120 to 1,000 pounds (55 to 455 kg) The color and patterns of the fur of the animal is under much debate, because the fossil so far has provided no clues. Some believe the Smilodon had spots like a leopard or stripes like a tiger, but the most common representation shows them with a simple beige colored coat like a modern Jefferson's Ground Sloth. The Smilodon is the official state fossil of the state California.
